Salir do Porto walking

SALIR DO PORTO

Salir do Porto is located on the South side of Sao Martinho do Porto’s shell shaped bay.

Salir do Porto is a small village that was built around an old seaport and the ruins of the old customs station, next to the bay entrance, is reminiscent of those times and preserves the historical richness of this land of fishermen.

Nowadays, Salir do Porto is home to a small community, mostly made up of local people, who welcome with open arms all those who want to make this town their home or spend their holidays here. It is also most popular for the largest sand dune in Portugal which keep many children busy hiking up and then sliding or running down. :-)

Throughout the year, the village has plenty of life offering restaurants, cafés, a pharmacy, and a local supermarket, with neighbours who know each other and are always ready to greet us with a warm “bom dia".

The town also benefits from its strategic location in the heart of the Silver Coast, being only a short drive away from some of the most popular tourist spots in this region of Portugal.
